Survival Budget Task

If your team isn’t being paid during their time developing a product, how do you plan on paying them?

I would offer them either cash or equity in the company, the cash either being from personal investors (like friends, family, co workers who are willing to risk their money for a hope of a future return, maybe partial ownership if the investment is high enough) or my own pocket, and the equity being split up between shareholders (the value of the shares issued by the company will be based on how much they put in and/or the stature they hold in the company)

This means that everyone ends up happy with what they get and in the end eventually gets paid, which is the most important thing for a business to focus on, especially a media company as media companies are in high demand right now and the market is very full unless you're a company that focuses on a certain type of media or a certain type of niche which then impedes on the way you run your business and make money

What would you need in order to set-up your own company?

I would need a business plan outlining the company, what we intend to do, how we are going to reach our goals, how much money it would cost for the company to be fully operational as a whole. This is beneficial to me because without this I would undoubtedly be totally aimless and without direction so the business plan would keep me on track
A survival budget predicting all of my expected expenses if the company does go bad. This is beneficial to me because having a failsafe is the best way to be able to rebuild the company as i will have have the right tools, information and ways to create capital to make sure my company gets back on its feet
Insurance protecting my company legally, this is beneficial because insurance covers specific things that may go wrong in the running of my company so I can have a piece of mind that I will still be able to run if anything unfortunate did happen
Current finances and any projections I have for the company moving forward, this is beneficial because knowing hypothetically how much money I would make would allow me to have more motivation to make the money and would allow me to find the tools to help me make it
People willing to back my company monetarily or join to help me for free to start it up in return for equity, this is beneficial because without money to start the company or to help it run there would be no company
Money to pay for advertising and promotional materials, this is beneficial because advertising and marketing bring in customers and without customers there is no money being made
Money to pay for software subscriptions such as the “Adobe Creative Suite”, “Office 365”, “Dropbox or Google Drive for Storage” etc, these programs are generally really beneficial in the running of a creative media company so it is really beneficial to have a subscription to these services
Money to pay for timekeeping and workforce subscriptions such as “Slack”, “Discord Nitro”, “GitHub Premium” etc, these programs are generally really beneficial in the running of a creative media company so it is really beneficial to have a subscription to these services
Adequate hardware for company use, because having good technology will allow me/the workforce to work faster
A fully operational marketing proposal outlining what needs to be done marketing wise, which market is best for the company to pander to, which marketing techniques will gather the best results, this is beneficial to the company because finding the right market to pander to means I can make the business more suitable to that specific market
Money to pay for graphic design services to help market the business better, this is beneficial because advertising and marketing bring in customers and an eye catching design is normally the face of a whole business
Social media presence and skills within that to be able to promote your business and market it correctly to the right audience, this is beneficial because social media is an extremely important thing to focus on nowadays as that's normally how people find companies to purchase from
A write up of my skills and weaknesses as that would be beneficial for knowing how to run a business with my skill set and knowing how to use people's skills to compliment mine, this is beneficial as knowing what I do good and knowing what i could do better would make running the company easier
A small office space (does not have to be professional but just somewhere I can have a calm and respectful working environment), this is beneficial because having a calm space to work in generally garners better results
